There is an awesome application called Bluetooth App Launcher. Not only will it launch other applications when a BT (or wired headphone) connection is made it will also change volume settings then change them back after the disconnection. I see that it will also keep track of your gps location on disconnect so you can find out where your car is (assuming you have BT in your car). I used it to find my car once and it even offered to navigate to where it was last connected to my Android. Nice :)
